MLK Social Justice Teach-In Days Leave A Lasting Impact

Understanding the Historical Relevance and Impact of Dr. King’s Work
In honor of the work and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., GDS Middle School and High School students participated in the annual MLK Social Justice Teach-In Days. Each day was filled with panel discussions, workshops, service projects, and performances, all with the goal of students not only understanding the historical relevance and impact of Dr. King’s work, but also remembering that our awareness and actions are equally important.

Check out the video highlighting the many activities from both campuses »
The video includes clips of morning panel speakers Prince Georges Councilwoman Marsha Dixon, runner extraordinaire Ashlee Lawson, social worker Zelaika Hepworth Clarke, and activist Jinan Shbat and afternoon keynote artists Asha Santee, Charity Blackwell, and Rebecca Dupas.
